Redesign Portfolios: October

How might we redesign portfolios in a way that empowers students to develop ownership over their own learning and to prioritize learning processes? In this short experience, you’ll shift portfolios from a teacher-directed collection of summative, product-based assessments to a student-led curation of artifacts of learning-in-progress. Designed to move you from understanding to action in just a few hours, this two-day, fully asynchronous course provides highly curated resources, examples, and action steps for redesigning how you create and use portfolios. GOA coaches will facilitate online spaces where you can discuss ideas and share work in progress. You’ll leave with a framework for designing a student-led process portfolio that provides students with choice and voice in how they show and share their learning.

Redesigning portfolios is not starting from scratch. It’s taking what you’re already doing and redesigning and revising for more intentional, student-centered impact. In this course you will learn:
