A Design Sprint for Leadership Teams
This sprint is on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 1:30-3:30pm UTC (8:30-10:30am EST). Please register as an individual. GOA will follow up with information on how to enroll the remainder of your team.
What does collaboration look like in schools? How do you empower colleagues to collaborate? What is the role of school culture in effective collaboration? What am I doing as a leader to promote collaboration? In this two-hour design sprint, GOA coaches will guide you and your team through a series of exercises on designing and facilitating high-quality collaboration for your team. We’ll walk you through the what, why, and how of effective, human-centered collaboration and equip you with strategies you can implement immediately in your work. You and your colleagues will work together to articulate and design solutions for collaboration challenges at your school.
Topics we’ll address in this sprint:
What research tells us are the essential ingredients to effective collaboration
What levers you can pull in your school to encourage and nurture a collaborative culture
Practical strategies for true and meaningful collaboration
Why this matters
It has never been more important to nurture collaborative cultures in schools, especially among colleagues.
It has never been more important to nurture collaborative cultures in schools, especially among colleagues. Learning simple, practical strategies for human-centered collaboration is a way for school leaders to nurture the cultures of their teams as well as model for their school communities what prioritizing collaboration looks like. We created this design sprint to encourage leaders to recognize all the ways they can shift day-to-day routines to encourage more and deeper collaboration.

FAQ’s
Is the cost lower if I register less than six people?
No. The cost ($600 for members, $750 for non-members) is the same whether teams are two people, six people, or somewhere in between.
What if I want to register more than six people?
Each registration covers up to six participants. You should register again to add additional members to your team.
How does facilitation work?
You and your team should gather either in-person or join our Zoom call. GOA will be facilitating remotely, so in-person teams can project us on a screen. Those teams who join us on Zoom will be provided their own breakout room. Throughout the session, GOA will share key content and prompts, then your team will have time to collaborate on design activities. We'll also ask team members to report out on teamwork to make connections across schools.
