What this is
A two-day online course for educators with an optional Zoom feedback session.
How might we leverage visual design to make our resources more usable for students and positively affect their learning and retention? In this lean, two-day course led by GOA’s Design Lab team, you will learn about and have the opportunity to apply foundational visual design principles – relevant to both online and offline contexts – to the resources you create for your students like online pages and assignments, slidedecks, and handouts. Visual design strategies to craft more learner-centered experiences will be examined and concretized through examples from both online and offline learning experiences. All participants will leave the course with a rubric for learner-centered visual design, visually refreshed materials, and practical strategies to support ongoing learning. To close out the course, you will be invited to an optional, synchronous feedback workshop.
