Our Educator Courses

With an expansive educator course catalog, educators are able to begin, and continue, their learning journey with us. Our educator courses provide access to expert content that, as demonstrated from our work in our Student Program, is proven and effective. Much of what we teach and espouse in our courses mirrors what GOA does well in its Student Program in areas such as high quality online learning, competency-based learning, feedback and assessment, curriculum development, and student agency.

Our purpose is to prepare and empower educators to thrive in online spaces. The norms that we espouse as essential to successful online learning experiences - building trust and knowing your students deeply, challenging all students, and developing learning experiences that promote and support student agency - are also essential tenets in our commitment to social change. There is a need in our schools-and society-to explicitly and intentionally focus on matters of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. In our courses, we will prompt you, regardless of the discipline or age you work with, to design experiences that will inspire and empower a future generation to be compassionate and critical thinkers.

GOA educator courses are one week long; approximately 3-5 hours of engagement; and asynchronous. Course work is completed on your own schedule and is participant driven. Each course is expertly facilitated by GOA and includes resources and examples of real teacher and student work where applicable, along with application activities and interactive discussion spaces. Courses have participants from schools all over the world and provide an opportunity to grow your professional learning network, share your own expertise, and leverage the expertise of others from schools in GOA's global network.
