Coaching Commons

Leading change is work best done in good company. Our Coaching Commons gathers a small, stable cohort of middle leaders to coach each other's real, in-progress work across the year. This program is designed for those on campus who implement strategic initiatives and shift practice in schools, including department chairs, assistant division leaders, deans, and teacher-leaders. The cohort meets monthly from November through April around one broad theme, assessment and feedback in the age of AI, and it runs on a simple idea: the community is the coach. Each session, members present their works-in-progress, the group coaches it through a consistent protocol, and GOA hosts, connects, and names the patterns emerging across schools. Members who want recognition can close the year with a presentation of practice, earning a completion certificate for PD hours. Admission is by application, and the only prerequisite is a real project and the willingness to show up for it.

This members-only offering will meet for the following six sessions over the academic year. The time of day will be determined by the locations/time zones of the cohort participants.
