AI: Next Steps for Educators

AI: Next Steps for Educators empowers teachers and school leaders with deeper understanding, confidence, and readiness in their AI use. Designed to be experienced on your own timeline and in three hours or less, participants will be guided through deeper dives into generative AI tools (supporting image and voice creation, research, and project planning) and will take action for greater efficiency, personalization, and engagement. Design sprints invite brainstorming, problem solving, and content creation with AI.

AI: Making Sense of Data is an asynchronous, pop-up course designed to help educators and non-teaching staff recognize the data they already have, explore AI tools and prompts that can help make sense of it, and develop practical use cases that bring AI-powered data analysis into their roles in meaningful ways.

Reframe: Nonlinear Learning for Agency

Reframe: Nonlinear Learning for Agency is an asynchronous, pop-up course offering practical inspiration, examples, and strategies for designing nonlinear learning experiences. Participants will take an existing unit or project and rethink time and space to create differentiated pathways that maintain sequence while enhancing engagement and deepening learning. Rooted in competency-based learning principles but accessible to all teachers, nonlinear design empowers students to take charge of their next steps.

Reframe: Teacher Presence for Student Engagement

Reframe: Teacher Presence for Student Engagement is a pop-up course that invites you to rethink your perspective on teacher presence and explore powerful shifts you can take that help move students from compliance to true engagement. Drawing from coaching stances and research on motivation, we’ll consider sustainable teacher moves—in instruction and in how we care for ourselves as educators—that nurture student investment.

Leadership: Essentials for Leaders

Leadership: Essentials for Leaders | How do your leadership moves reflect your school’s vision and values? School leaders will build five essential leadership skills: communicating across modalities, facilitating human-centered meetings, thinking in systems, aligning vision to tactics, and making decisions in uncertainty. You’ll ground yourself in GOA’s leadership competencies and apply them to the real challenges of instructional leadership in your context. This course is designed for department heads, deans, curriculum leaders, and aspiring school leaders.

AI: Cognitive Tools, Not Shortcuts

AI: Cognitive Tools, Not Shortcuts is grounded in cognitive science research on how people think, learn, and transfer knowledge. This course invites educators to reframe AI not as a way around thinking, but as a way into deeper learning. You’ll explore how AI can support metacognition, idea generation, and meaningful knowledge construction—and develop strategies to help students use AI as a tool for learning, not just efficiency.

Leadership Workshops

GOA will design and facilitate a retreat experience for your leadership team and/or leadership interested educators rooted in leadership foundations. The retreat focuses on building leadership capacity through the development of five core leadership competencies: Facilitating Human-Centered Meetings, Communicating Effectively Across Multiple Modalities, Thinking in Systems, Making Decisions in the Face of Ambiguity and Uncertainty, and Aligning Vision to Strategy to Tactics. Facilitation invites reflection, collaboration, and relevant connections to current school initiatives.
