Understand Everyday Economics: Why are movie tickets cheaper on Tuesdays? Why do some products seem overpriced? And when should governments step in to fix markets? In this course, you’ll explore decision-making at the level of individuals, businesses, and governments using graphs, models, and economic indicators. Fully aligned with College Board requirements, the course covers supply and demand, costs and profits, competition and markets, wages and income, and the challenges of market failures like pollution and inequality. Along the way, you’ll build skills in applying concepts, interpreting data, analyzing models, and making evidence-based arguments as you step into the role of an economist to explain, critique, and problem-solve these everyday puzzles—all while preparing for the AP® Exam.
Why Take This Course? If you’ve ever wondered why prices change, why businesses succeed or fail, or how policies shape markets, microeconomics gives you the tools to make sense of it. You’ll apply economic reasoning to solve, explain, and critique economic behavior in real-world contexts. By the end of the course, you won’t just understand how markets work—you’ll be able to think critically about choices, tradeoffs, and policies that influence daily life.
