Global Health - Help Solve the World’s Health Challenges: What makes people sick? Why do health disparities persist both locally and globally? In this course, you’ll explore the social and political factors that influence health and the biggest challenges in global health today. Using an interdisciplinary approach, you’ll engage in analytical reading and writing, research, and collaborative projects. You’ll examine case studies, present your findings, and gain a deeper understanding of the biology of diseases, the social determinants of health, and the roles of public and private organizations. Additionally, you’ll learn how global health statistics shape our understanding of health inequities and critically analyze how the distribution of healthcare resources and access impact health equity worldwide.
